Perform with clarity when it matters most.
Mental performance support for competitive athletes and teams in Winnipeg and across Manitoba, in person or virtually.
The physical side is only part of it
You have put in the work, and you know what you are capable of. But in the moments that count, something gets in the way: nerves that tighten everything up, a mistake you cannot let go of, or pressure from coaches, selection, or yourself that makes it harder to compete freely.
Maybe you are coming back from injury, moving up a level, or working out who you are as an athlete after a big change. Or maybe nothing is wrong at all, and you want to understand yourself better and compete with more intention.
Mental performance is a skill, and like any skill, it can be trained.
What could be different
Athletes I work with build routines they trust, reset faster after mistakes, and compete with more confidence and less noise.
They stop hoping pressure will not show up and start knowing how to handle it, and that steadiness carries into training, competition, and life outside sport.
Whether you are chasing selection, coming back from injury, or simply want to compete with more intention, this work meets you where you are.
Support from someone who knows high-performance sport
Meet Dr. Lindsay Berard
I am the Mental Health and Performance Lead for Wheelchair Basketball Canada’s senior national teams, and I have worked with athletes in individual (including golf, track and field, skating, dance, HYROX, bodybuilding, and jiu-jitsu) and team sports (including football, hockey, basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball), from the collegiate and professional levels to national teams and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. I know the demands of selection, travel, long seasons, and competing on the biggest stages.
What sets my work apart is my combination of training. As a Certified Mental Performance Consultant with a background in clinical psychology, I can help you build performance skills, and if something deeper is affecting you, we can address that too, without starting over somewhere else. I am a Psychologist Candidate, supervised by Dr. Sarah Chaulk.
Getting started is simple
-

01
Book a free 15-minute call. Tell me about your sport, your goals, and what is getting in the way.
-

02
Map out your season. In our first session, we look at your pressure points, your schedule, and what you want to be different.
-

03
Train the mental side. Each session builds practical skills, like routines, regulation, and focus, that you take straight into training and competition.
Is this for you?
I work with competitive athletes and teams at the club, university, professional, national, and Olympic and Paralympic levels, including athletes navigating injury, transition, or burnout.
Athletes come to me for many reasons, not only because something is wrong. Common areas include building skills to support confidence and performance anxiety, pre-performance and reset routines, staying composed under pressure, bouncing back from mistakes, setbacks, or injury, and navigating transitions, selection, and expectations. I also work with athletes who are struggling with their mental health (including eating concerns and who have experienced trauma in or out of sport) and want to work with someone who gets their high performance demands.
For teams, I offer culture sessions, communication and feedback workshops, competition preparation, and season planning and check-ins, so that communication, trust, and clarity hold up when the pressure rises.
Sessions are available in person in Oak Bluff, serving Winnipeg, or virtually.
